Hi! I know I know I broke my promise! SUPERRRR late post for week 5! Very busy these days! In the best way of course.

This week I went to Scotland, which is just so awesome! I went with two of my roommates, Rylee and Hannah, and two of our guy friends from MN! We flew into Edinburgh on Thursday night after class. Another super quick 45 minute flight on RyanAir! Of course the very first stop after we got off the plane was TacoBell (per the boys request, insert rolling eyes emoji) because we don't have it in Ireland! Then we made our way to our hostel. This was my first time staying in a hostel and it was an experience!! We stayed in a 30-bed room and every bed was full. It actually felt a lot safer than it sounds haha!

Friday morning Hannah and I bummed around a little before making our way to the train station to go to St. Andrews, Scotland where Rylee and the boys were golfing at the Old Course at St. Andrews. The town in so beautiful but that day it happened to be freezing, pouring rain, and had about 50 mph winds!! We got a few drinks and explored a little while the others finished golfing and then we made our way back to Edinburgh.

We spent that evening at the hostel bar. Nothing too crazy to report but I did try a Baby Guinness for the first time! Bailey's and Kahlúa, yum!

The next morning we set out to explore Edinburgh! It is such a cool city. It's a lot like Dublin just a little more touristy and a lot more hilly. (Is hilly a word??? probably. I think it is.) We shopped around and then went to the Edinburgh Castle. It was gigantic and so pretty!!

We were looking for a place to get lunch and watch the Scotland rugby match, but Scotland seems to love rugby just as much as Ireland so everywhere was sooo busy. We did find somewhere to eat, just no TVs :(

After lunch we somehow ended up at a basement bowling alley bar, where we spent a good chunk of the afternoon. It really was a lot of fun! More Baby Guinness!!

We then got dinner and set out for the night! Our flight home was at 5:55am, so we didn't get anywhere to stay that night! Complete waste of money, right!! We went a few more places before making our way to one of the most popular places in Edinburgh nightlife, DropKick Murphy's. I really do think we could have stayed here forever. Rylee ended up becoming besties with the owner and he gave us all free t-shirts and a couple free drinks :)!

3:00am came around pretty quick, and we were off to the airport! Alcohol + airport security was a little tricky for some (not me, mom. best behavior always.) but we survived!!

The next few days consisted of catching up on sleep and homework!!

Oh and that Wednesday was Valentine's Day! Some of the other girls in my program hosted a little get together/potluck with everyone! So much fun!!

So that was my time in Scotland!! We weren't there very long so I will definitely being go back someday!!

byeeeeee!!!
